Eagles practice for final time before break
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The 2026 Boston College Football program held its final week four spring practice on Wednesday before Easter break. Competitive team periods made up the majority of the two-hour, high-intensity session. After practice, Gregory P. Barber '69 and Family Head Coach Bill O'Brien met with the media.
"I thought it was a good day today. We have good leadership. There was good contact out there, and they're trying to take care of each other by playing on their feet. There was a lot of good situational work and a lot to build on."
Both the offense and defense made plays early in the team's opening competitive period. North Carolina transfer Javarius Green made a leaping grab from Grayson Wilson over the middle. Second-year defensive back Ashton Cunningham broke up a deep ball down the sideline intended for Nedrick Boldin Jr.
The offense found another gear as practice continued. Mason McKenzie found three different Eagles in the end zone during the second competitive team period: two scores to tight end Danny Edgehille and one to Boldin Jr. Arkansas transfer Wilson also found the end zone, connecting with Landon Wright for a touchdown. True freshman Femi Babalola hit Reed Swanson for a score.
In the final competitive period of the morning, Marcus Upton rallied the defense with an early interception. The offense was not fazed, as McKenzie found Colgate transfer Swanson in the back of the end zone for a touchdown. Evan Dickens added a rushing score of his own.
Tight end Brady Clough had the last laugh, hauling in a touchdown pass from McKenzie on the final play of Wednesday's practice.
After Easter, the Eagles are set to hold their final four practices of the spring season. Practices are closed to the public.
