Eagles kick off week four of spring practice Monday morning
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Week four of spring practice for the Boston College football program kicked off on Monday morning inside Fish Field House. After a two-plus-hour controlled scrimmage on Saturday, the Eagles returned to the field for another solid day of work.
After practice, sophomore defensive lineman Micah Amedee and sophomore offensive lineman Robert Smith IV met with the media.
In the opening competitive team period, freshman running back Sedric Addison broke off several sizable runs early. Second-year defensive back Marcelous Townsend and veteran linebacker Juan Zabal later got the defense on track with a pass breakup across the middle of the field and a tackle for loss, respectively.
The quarterbacks honed in on their connections with Eagles pass catchers as Monday's practice continued. Mason McKenzie found fellow transfer portal acquisition Jackson Wade for a score, as well as Johnathan Montague Jr. Femi Babalola also connected with Montague Jr. for a touchdown. Georgia State transfer Chandler Jordan later deflected a pass in the end zone, saving a touchdown.
In the team's final competitive period of the day, Grayson Wilson added a touchdown pass of his own to Reed Swanson. The defense ended Monday's practice on a high note, recording interceptions by Kameron Howard and Jordan Rodriguez.
"It's great to show our strengths on defense. We're still building chemistry one day at a time and getting better," said Amedee, a Brockton, Mass. native.
The Eagles will practice again on Wednesday morning, marking their 11th practice of the spring. Practices are closed to the public.
