Anthony Palano Earns ACC Player of the Week Honors

Eagles linebacker is the only player in the nation with at least 22 tackles, two interceptions and one sack
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College linebacker Anthony Palano earned an ACC Weekly Award on Monday as the Linebacker of the Week, the conference announced. The Arlington Heights, Ill. native is the first Eagle to earn an ACC Weekly Award this season.Â
Last week vs. Rutgers (9/11), Palano finished the game with nine tackles, including two for loss, two interceptions and one sack. He sacked quarterback AJ Surace for a 10-yard loss in the second quarter, his first career full sack.Â
Palano later added his first career interception with a 13-yard return early in the fourth quarter. His second interception came later in the fourth quarter, clinching a 28-21 victory for the Eagles. Palano became the first Eagle to record two interceptions in a game since Elijah Jones had two interceptions at Syracuse on November 3, 2023.
The Eagles return to Alumni Stadium this weekend to take on Maine on Saturday, September 19 at 2:00 p.m. on ACCNX.Â
