No. 22 Eagles host Black Bears before trip to UNC
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — No. 22 Boston College Baseball will host Maine in a midweek contest tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ACCNX.

Boston College is 11-17 against the Black Bears with an 11-14 record at home. The Eagles dropped last year's meeting 5-4 in extra innings. Beck Milner led the Boston College offense that day with three RBI on two hits. Jacob Burnham started for the Eagles that day, going four innings with five strikeouts.
Scouting the Black Bears
Maine is 5-20 this season and won two of three this past weekend at UMass Lowell. The Black Bears do have a win this season against ACC foe, Duke. Offensively, Maine has two hitters hitting over .300 this year in Quinn Murphy and Juju Stevens. Stevens 31 hits lead the Black Bears, while Troy Carpenter has 31 RBI to lead all Maine bats. On the mound, the Black Bears have Gianni Gambardella and Jason Krieger, both of whom have over 35 innings of work and lead Maine in strikeouts. The duo also has the two lowest ERAs on the Black Bears staff.

Boston College took two of three this past weekend from then-ninth-ranked Virginia. The Eagles won the Friday and Saturday matchups, 5-3 and 17-0. The Boston College rotation of A.J. Colarusso, Tyler Mudd, and Brady Miller combined to throw 18 innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out 16 against just eight hits. Nick Wang, Luke Gallo, and Kyle Wolff combined to go 13-30 with 11 RBI, three extra base hits, and three home runs. The 17-0 win was the second time this season the Eagles have scored over 15 runs, and the seventh time they have scored over 10 runs. It was also their third shutout of the season, making them one of 15 schools to post three shutouts this year.
