Boston College rushes for 399 yards and five touchdowns to secure second consecutive ACC victory

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Boston College football team defeated Georgia Tech, 49-27, on Saturday afternoon at Bobby Dodd Stadium for its second consecutive ACC win and first road victory of the season. The Eagles totaled 399 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns in the victory.

The Eagles improve to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the ACC, while Georgia Tech falls to 2-5 and 1-3 in league

Mason McKenzie finished the game completing 9-of-17 passes for 101 yards and one touchdown. Javarius Green hauled in three catches for 57 yards, while Bo MacCormack III led the Eagles' rushing attack with 155 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. Nedrick Boldin Jr. added a 25-yard touchdown reception.

Charlie Comella recorded five tackles (five solo) and two interceptions, including a 47-yard return for a touchdown. Anthony Palano led the defense with nine tackles (eight solo) and one sack, while London Upton added six tackles and KP Price and Caleb Davis each totaled five stops. The Eagles' defense held Georgia Tech to 101 rushing yards.

Boston College finished with 500 yards of total offense, including 399 rushing yards.

The Yellow Jackets struck first on the game's opening drive with an eight play, 79-yard drive capped off by a four-yard touchdown reception by tight end Kevin Roche Jr., taking a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Georgia Tech extended their lead on the second drive of the game after the Eagles held them to a field goal, making the score 10-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The Eagles responded with a touchdown of their own to begin the second quarter, when quarterback McKenzie found Boldin Jr. for a 25-yard touchdown, his first career touchdown reception. Boston College cut the Georgia Tech lead to 10-6 after a missed extra point.

Boston College took the lead midway through the second quarter when MacCormack III scored on a seven-yard rushing touchdown, making the score 12-10. The MacCormack touchdown capped a four-play, 50-yard drive.

A Georgia Tech field goal gave the Yellow Jackets at 13-12 lead at the end of the first half.

After a 40-yard McKenzie run to open the third quarter, MacCormack rushed for a two-yard touchdown to give the Eagles an 18-13 lead, his first career multi-touchdown game as a member of the Eagles.

Comella picked off Georgia Tech with a 23-yard return after the Eagles scoring drive, McKenzie scored on a six-yard rushing touchdown to give the Eagles a 25-13 lead. The touchdown marked McKenzie's fourth rushing touchdown this season.

Luca Lombardo added to the Eagles lead with a 23-yard field goal, making the score 28-13.

Georgia Tech would respond with a 15-yard rushing touchdown from Justice Haynes to make it a one score game, 28-20.

McKenzie had a 15-yard rushing touchdown capping a six-play, 75-yard drive, making the score 35-20.

Comella picked off Georgia Tech for his second interception of the game, returning it 47 yards for a touchdown following the Eagles scoring drive to extend Boston College's lead to 42-20.

Georgia Tech cut into the Eagles lead with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Grady Adamson to Dalen Penson, capping an eight-play, 78-yard drive to make the score 42-27.

MacCormack III added to the Eagles' lead with a 19-yard rushing touchdown, capping a six-play, 45-yard drive to extend Boston College's lead to 49-27.
