
No. 13 Eagles Travel for ACC Opening Weekend

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – No.13 Eagles hit the road for their first ACC match ups of the 2025 season. Boston College will start with No. 3 Virginia on Friday night at 5 p.m. then head over to No. 20 Wake Forest on Sunday for a 12 p.m. match up.
EAGLES IN THE ACC
In 2024 BC was 6-2 in conference play and ultimately finished second in the ACC Championships. The Eagles are 3-2 in opening ACC weekend games over the past five seasons. Last season, the Maroon and Gold faced the Demon Deacons in the first weekend and walked away with a 4-1 win to start ACC play.
A LOOK AT VIRGINIA
- This will be the 29th meeting between the Eagles and Cavaliers.
- BC has come out on top the previous three times the teams have met in the last few years, 2024 (3-2 OT), 2023 (2-1), 2022 (2-1).
- Last season, the Eagles upset Virginia in a 3-2 overtime victory at home with Madelieve Drion firing the winning shot.
- Virginia is one of three schools in the ACC with a perfect record going into conference play.
- Virginia is second in the league in saves with 16 saves over 4 games from Nilou Lempers.
- The Hoos have scored 11 goals this year so far each coming from a different attacker. However Mia Abello and Lauren Sloan lead the charge with 4 points each.
A LOOK AT WAKE FOREST
- Coach Doton returns to her alma mater for the 31st overall meeting between the Eagles and Demon Deacons.
- BC has won the past two meeting of the teams in 2023 and 2024
- The Demon Deacons are on a four game winning streak as Averill picked up her 450th career win in their last game.
- Wake Forest is leading the ACC in shots (146), shots on goal (84) and Corners (48) coming in second in goals with 25.
- Lauren Storey leads the conference shots on goal with 24 while being third overall in goals scored with 7 averaging 2.5 points per game.
