Dylan Lonergan was 30-of-44 for 333 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Reed Harris caught seven passes for 141 yards, while Lewis Bond also caught seven passes for 47 yards. Out of the backfield, Turbo Richard rushed for 54 yards on 14 carries to go along with five receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinal held a 6-0 lead after the opening quarter with two made field goals from kicker Emmet Kenney.

BC cut into the deficit early in the second quarter when Luca Lombardo kicked a career-long 51-yard field goal. Momentum shifted as the Eagles forced a three-and-out, setting up a touchdown on the next drive. Lonergan threw a pass out to the right to a wide open Richard, who ran 45 yards after the catch for a 49-yard touchdown to put Boston College in front for the first time on the night.

The Eagles added to their lead on the next drive as Jordan McDonald ran in it from two yards out for his first rushing touchdown of the season. McDonald's touchdown was set up on the previous play by a 46-yard completion from Lonergan to Harris.

Stanford ended the BC 17-0 scoring run with a 69-yard touchdown pass from Ben Gulbranson to Sam Roush with just under two minutes remaining in the first half. The Cardinal took the lead just 18 seconds later when Collin Wright returned an interception for a touchdown.

BC ended the half with a 31-yard field goal from Lombardo to tie the game at 20-20 after the opening 30 minutes.

Stanford held the Eagles scoreless in the second half, while scoring a touchdown in the third quarter and a field goal in the fourth to claim the first league game.

KP Price finished with nine tackles (four solo). Owen McGowan made eight tackles (five solo), while Omar Thornton and Edwin Kolenge both finished with six.

Boston College is off next week before returning to Alumni Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 27 to face Cal on Family Weekend.
