Eagles Fall to Clemson on Saturday

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College football fell to the Clemson Tigers by a score of 41-10 in league action on Saturday evening at Alumni Stadium in front of a crowd of 42,265 people.

The BC defense and special teams forced three turnovers on the day with two interceptions and one fumble recovery on a muffed punt. KP Price led all players with 14 total tackles, including 10 solo tackles and one tackle for a loss.

On the offensive side of the ball, Lewis Bond made seven catches for 70 yards, while Turbo Richard finished with 75 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries.

The Tigers opened the scoring on their first drive of the night with a 46-yard field goal from Nolan Hauser. Clemson added to its lead on the next drive when Adam Randall scored an 8-yard rushing touchdown.

BC cut into the deficit on their second drive, going 48 yards on seven plays that ended with a 45-yard field goal from Luca Lombardo.

Clemson responded with a Peter Woods rushing touchdown from the two-yard line, completing an eight-play, 75-yard scoring drive.

The Eagles tallied their first touchdown of the night early in the second quarter when Richard rushed it in from the two-yard line for his fifth rushing TD of the season.

The Tigers rattled off 17 unanswered points to end the first half, as Cade Klubnik converted a rushing and passing touchdown, followed by a 50-yard field goal from Hauser as time expired.

Boston College forced its first turnover of the day midway through the third quarter when KP Price picked off Klubnik. The BC defense made another stop later in the quarter, this time through an interception by Max Tucker in the endzone. Early in the fourth, Charlie Comella recovered a muffed punt by the Tigers.

Neither team scored in the third quarter, but the Tigers added to the lead with a touchdown in the final few seconds.

Boston College plays at home for the second-straight game when it hosts UConn next Saturday for a noon kickoff on ACC Network.
