ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Boston College Eagles Alum Sal Frelick was crowned a World Series Champion after the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in game five, 4-1. This marks the third consecutive year in which an Eagles alum received a ring after Emmet Sheehan became a champion with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024 and 2025.
Frelick had the swing of his life in game two. In the sixth inning, Frelick crushed a 431 ft. home run to tie the game at four, fully cementing the comeback. In the same game, the Brewers would pull ahead and win 5-4. Along with his gold glove ability, making a fantastic diving catch in Tampa Bay, Frelick was able to have a moment on the offensive side, totaling five hits in the series.
At Boston College, Frelick appeared in 102 games while starting all but one. He hit .345, totaled 139 hits, and a .956 OPS.
Congratulations to Sal Frelick and the Milwaukee Brewers on winning the team's first title in franchise history.
