CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Boston College women's soccer team closed out its 2025 season on Thursday evening with a 2–0 loss to No. 7 Virginia at Klöckner Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, Virginia (12-2-3, 6-2-2 ACC) broke through on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute, as Maggie Cagle buried her shot from the spot to the lower right corner. The Cavaliers doubled their advantage just six minutes later when Allie Ross converted a second penalty, also placing her attempt inside the right post.
Boston College (5-8-5, 1-7-2 ACC) generated eight total shots, including one on frame from Tess Barrett, while goalkeeper Olivia Shippee kept the Eagles within reach with a standout 11-save performance — her highest total of the season.
Defender Amalia Dray recorded two shot attempts and helped anchor the back line, while Ashley Roberts and Lydia Poulin each contributed to the attack. The Eagles held Virginia scoreless through the first 45 minutes before the Cavaliers' pair of second-half penalty kicks sealed the result.
