Eagles Collects Top 10 Finishes in Nickerson, Schell, and Urn Trophy

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College sailing team capped off another busy weekend with top ten finishes in all of its regattas. The Eagles took 3rd place in the Nickerson Trophy, hosted by Tufts, 4th place in the Schell Trophy, hosted by MIT, and rounded out action with a 6th place finish in the Urn Trophy, hosted by Harvard.
At the Nickerson Trophy, Boston College sailed strongly from start to finish. Skipper Cody Roe and crew Christian Yanoti led the A Division boat to third place with 55 points. In B Division, skipper Jake Homberger and crews Brady Kennedy and Lauren Leonard followed with a fourth-place finish, scoring 75 points. The combined total of 130 points put the Eagles in third place overall.
On the Charles River, the Eagles competed in the Schell Trophy and finished in fourth place with 192 points. A Division, led by skipper Peter Joslin and crew Brooke Bergendahl, battled fiercely to a fourth-place finish after accumulating 77 points. Skipper Tanner Krygsveld and crew Sydney Lombard led the B Division boat, taking seventh place with 115 points.
Boston College concluded its weekend action at the Urn Trophy on the Charles River. The A Division boat, steered by skipper Caroline Sibilly and crew Kennedy Laureigh, dominated with a first-place finish, scoring 48 points. Skipper Kate Joslin and crew Lanie Ferrarone raced in B Division for the Eagles, finishing in 10th place with 115 points. The combined score of 163 points put them in sixth place.
Boston College has next weekend off, as Jake Homberger looks ahead to the Singlehanded National Championships, hosted by Old Dominion on November 8-9.
