Liv Westphal Finishes Sixth at European U23 XC Championships

Boston College junior Liv Westphal continued her amazing cross country season as she took sixth place our of 61 total runners at the European Under-23 Cross Country Championships on Saturday to lead the French National Team to a seventh-place finish. Westphal took first on the team and navigated the 6k course in 20:21. France had a total team score of 116.
The top three teams at the championships were Great Britain (19 points), Russia (54 points) and Netherlands (70 points).
Wetsphal had a dominant season as she earned All-American honors with a 17th place finish at the NCAA Championships, took sixth at the Northeast Regional Championships, and placed third at both the BC XC Invite and the ACC Championships.
The Limoges, France native will now take time off before returning to action the third week of January for the indoor track season, where she will look to continue her success.
"I think she has a great shot at not just qualifying for the NCAA 5000m indoors, but being an All-American there," head coach Randy Thomas said of his expectations for Westphal in the upcoming season.
