WXC Finishes Fifth at Northeast Regional Championships

BRONX, N.Y. – The Boston College women’s cross country team finished fifth out of 37 teams at the Northeast Regional Championships Friday afternoon. The Eagles had a team score of 169 and finished behind Providence (44), Dartmouth (84), Syracuse (135) and Cornell (154).
Junior Liv Westphal led the way for the Eagles, finishing sixth of 254 total runners with a time of 20:12. Juniors Brittany Winslow and Madeleine Davidson took the next two spots on the team and finished just two seconds apart, crossing the line at 21:11 and 21:13, respectively. Seniors Elizabeth O’Brien (21:19) and Morgan Mueller (21:25) rounded out the top five for the team.
Providence won the Regional Championships and placed five runners in the top 20, with two Friars taking second and third overall.
Qualifying Eagles will be back in action on Nov. 23 at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.
