WXC Takes 16th at Wisconsin Invitational

Madison, Wisc. - The Boston College women's cross country team finished 16th out of 37 teams at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Saturday with a team score of 467, bettering last year's score by 15 points. The Eagles finished ahead of six teams that are ranked in the top three in their region (BYU, Duke, Florida, Texas, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt), and four teams ranked in the top 30 in the country (#17 Duke, #25 Vanderbilt, #26 BYU and #29 Texas.
Junior Liv Westphal finished 19th out of 288 runners, crossing the line at 20:10. The Limoges, France native cut 25 seconds off her time from the invitational last year. Brittany Winslow crossed the line next for the Eagles at 20:47, finishing 64th overall. Senior Morgan Miller took third on the team with a time of 21:09. Junior Madeleine Davidson took fourth for the Eagles, and dropped her time by 1:17 from last year, finishing in 21:11. Freshman Catherine Maloy (21:37) rounded out the top five for the Eagles.
Arizona won the invitational with a team score of 117, placing five runners in the top 60 overall.
BC will return to action on Nov. 1 for the ACC Championships in Winston Salem, N.C.
