Volleyball Receives Three NLIs as Signing Period Opens

Chestnut Hill, Mass. –Boston College Volleyball Head Coach Chris Campbell announced the 2012 signing class on Wednesday morning. The three newest Eagles are Kameron McLain from Bellevue, Wash., Cassidy Vaughn out of Austin, Texas and Katty Workman from Thousand Oaks, Calif.
“The unifying trait of this group is their competitiveness,” Campbell stated. “Each one of these players has played for the No. 1 club team in their state and/or the entire nation. For each of them, the desire to win burns very bright. It is that hunger to succeed that has the potential to impact our team quickly and significantly.”
The signing class consists of highly decorated club and high school student-athletes that bring a multitude of experience playing on the highest stage of international and national competition to the program.
McLain (left) is 6’1” middle hitter and recently lead Eastside Catholic to its third appearance in the Washington State Championship and recently received an AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, the only one for her home state. (Full release about Kam)
Vaughn (right) stands at 6'0”, a First Team All-State selection and dangerous hitter at any position, led Bowie High School to the state tournament for a third consecutive year this season. Her decision to enroll early at Boston College will be part of an ESPN.com feature in the coming weeks. (Full release about Cassidy)
Workman (left) led La Reina High School to a 10-2 record in league play this year and awaits the start of the state tournament. The 6’0” outside hitter led Sports Shack to a national title in July and will continue the family tradition at Boston College, as her sister Elizabeth plays tennis for the Eagles.
