Volleyball's Barnum, McTighe, and Workman Named to All-Tournament Team at Columbia Tournament

Captain Kellie Barnum recorded a match-high 26 assists along with a kill, two service aces, and eight digs in the first match against Fordham. Against tournament host Columbia, Barnum registered a double-double, posting a career-high 63 assists to go with 10 digs. Barnum additionally added four kills and two service aces in the match. The junior notched two kills, four digs, and a match-high of 26 assists against Binghamton.
Senior Melissa McTighe posted seven kills on .400 hitting, an assist, and a dig against Fordham. She contributed 10 kills and an assist at Columbia and 8 kills, a dig and a block solo against Binghamton. McTighe has received All-Tournament honors in all three tournaments the Eagles have participated in this season.
Outside hitter Katty Workman registered nine kills and five digs against Fordham. The California native posted a double-double against tournament host Columbia, notching 32 kills and 17 digs. In the Eagles’ final match against Binghamton, Workman contributed six kills and 10 digs. This also marks the third tournament of the season that Workman has received All-Tournament accolades.
The entire All-Tournament team includes: Kellie Barnum, Melissa McTighe, Katty Workman (Boston College), Atlanta Moye-McLauren, Jennifer Petrovich (Columbia), Brennan Delsing (Fordham), and Megan Burgess (Binghamton).
The Eagles finished the Columbia Tournament undefeated, defeating Fordham, 3-0, Columbia, 3-2, and Binghamton, 3-0.
“We got what we needed out of this weekend. Obviously the three wins are good and we are happy with those,” said Coach Campbell. “More importantly, we showed improvement in our play from the previous weekend and we identified some areas that we can work on to better prepare for the upcoming matches against Northeastern and Harvard.”
Boston College travels across town to Northeastern on Friday, Sept. 20 to face the Huskies and returns to the Power Gym Sept. 22 to match up against Harvard.
