Volleyball's McTighe and Workman named to All-Tournament Team at Western Carolina Invitational

Sophomore outside hitter Katty Workman, who was named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, recorded double-doubles in nearly every match played. In the Eagle's first match against USC-Upstate, Workman notched 11 kills to go with 13 digs. In the second match of the tournament against Western Carolina, the outside hitter totaled 16 kills to go with a personal best, 24 digs. She recorded 19 kills in the match vs. Wright State before breaking her previous barriers in kills, (30) against UNC-Asheville.
Senior middle hitter Melissa McTighe, who was one of only two players to play in all 114 sets last season, posted 15 kills on .414 hitting against tournament host Western Carolina. The California native accumulated 10 kills on .588 hitting against Wright State and seven kills and a dig against UNC-Asheville. This is McTighe's first All-Tournament accolade in her career at Boston College.
The entire All-Tournament Team includes: Anna Moore (UNC-Asheville), Melissa McTighe (BC), Caitlin Piechota (WCU), Katty Workman (BC), Meredith Foster (UNC-Asheville), and Kay Eversgerd (USC-Upstate).
Workman, McTighe, and the Eagles will return to the Power Gym Sept. 7 & 8 for the BC Invitational. The tournament is free admission.
