BOSTON - The Boston College volleyball team defeated Northeastern University on Tuesday night to earn its second straight victory of the spring season. The Eagles took three of the four games contested on Solomon Court at the Cabot Center.
Junior captain Krystle Higgins registered a match-high 10 blocks and .353 hitting clip to lead BC past NU. Freshman Courtney Castle turned in six blocks and a .267 attack percentage, adding one ace.
Rookie libero Lauren Fields paced Boston College with five aces and sophomore setter Courtney Seitz delivered another pair from the service line to keep the Huskies at bay.
The Maroon and Gold fell in extra time during the first set, 26-28, before responding with wins in the final three sets, 25-20, 25-23, 25-23.
BC sent Kellie Barnum, Tsvetelina Dureva, Cassidy Vaughn, Melissa McTighe, Alexandra Trobbe, Castle and Higgins to the court in the first two contests. Cagla Sen, Mollie Kolosky and Fields, in addition to Vaughn, Castle and Higgins, saw time in the third and fourth meetings.
