New Hampsire Roars Back to Knock Off Eagles
DURHAM, N.H.--The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team came back from a two games to none deficit to defeat Boston College in action at Lundholm Gymnasium. Game scores were 13-15, 10-15, 16-14, 15-5 and 15-11.
Boston College, still in search of its first victory of the season, came out strong, winning the first game despite hitting just .029 and easily taking game two with a sizzling .395 hitting percentage. But UNH rallied for a hard-fought, 16-14 win in game three and went on to the victory.
Leading the offensive attack for the Eagles was freshman outside hitter Julia El-Hag, who posted 15 kills on the night. El-Hag also shined on the defensive end, collecting 17 digs which matched teammate Amy Laurence's team-high total. Laurence also chipped in with eight kills.
Boston College, now 0-7 on the year, will next be in action at the Brown Invitational. Play begins on Friday, September 12, with the Eagles battling Harvard at 4 p.m. and Holy Cross at 7 p.m.
