URI Grounds BC Eagles in Women's Volleyball
KINGSTON, R.I. - At the University Spirit Rhode Island Invitational
Tournament, URI conceded a combined total of 17 points in their defeat over
Boston College in three straight games,15-5, 15-6, 15-6.
Leading the way for URI was Julia El-Hag with 13 of the team's 24 kills. Also
contributing was Kristin Sprinkel with 4 kills.
URI executed very quickly, disposing of their opponents in just over an hour.
In a losing effort, the chief offensive threats for Boston College were Cheri
Melson and Angela McHenry with 10 and 9 kills respectively.
With the victory, URI improved their record to 4-2. BC has still yet to win a
contest at 0-6.
