Volleyball Loses to Notre Dame in Four Sets, 3-1

SOUTH BEND, Ind.-  Sophomore Katty Workman posted her 14th double-double of the season with a team-high 16 kills along with 10 digs as the Boston College women’s volleyball team fell to Notre Dame on Friday evening in South Bend, Ind.

The Fighting Irish (13-17, 7-12 ACC) took the first two sets, 25-19 and 25-23. The Eagles (9-23, 1-19 ACC) came back to steal the third set, 25-23, but the Irish prevailed in the fourth set, 25-20, to take the match.

Junior Courtney Castle came through with nine kills and nine digs while senior Amanda Yerke also contributed nine kills.  Senior Melissa McTighe posted eight kills while freshman Anna Skold had five kills for BC.

Junior Kellie Barnum led the team with 39 assists while sophomore Franny Hock notched a season-high and team-high 17 digs.

The contest marked the final match of the 2013 season for the Eagles.
