Chestnut Hill, Mass- Junior Courtney Castle notched a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs in the Eagles win against Maryland on Friday night in Power Gym.

The Eagles (9-18, 1-14 ACC) swept the Terrapins (13-14, 5-10 ACC) in straight sets, 25-23, 25-19 and 29-27, clinching their first ACC win of the season.

Sophomore Katty Workman logged eight kills and 16 digs while senior Melissa McTighe also came through with eight kills on .583 hitting. Senior Amanda Yerke charted six kills and five digs for the Eagles and freshman Anna Skold came through with three kills in the match.

Junior Kellie Barnum led all players with 34 assists to go with seven digs and freshman Madisen Lydon led the squad with a team-high 24 digs.

Standouts for the Terrapins included junior Adreene Elliot who led all players with 11 kills and senior Sarah Harper who recorded a match-high 17 digs. 

The Eagles are back in action in Power Gym on Sunday at noon against Pittsburgh in their last home match of the regular season.

Sunday’s contest will mark a special day for the four seniors on the volleyball team. For Melissa McTighe, Cagla Sen, Alex Trobbe, and Amanda Yerke, the game will celebrate their accomplishments as BC student-athletes.
