CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior Kelsey Johnson recorded her 11th double-double of the season, but it could not stop the No. 14 ranked Duke Blue Devils from sweeping the Boston College volleyball team, 3-0, Friday night at Power Gymnasium.
Johnson tallied 10 kills and 10 digs for the Eagles, which now own a 4-9 Atlantic Coast Conference record, 10-13 overall. The win improves the Blue Devils to 12-1 in the ACC, 17-4 overall.
Duke hit .300 for an attacking percentage against BC, winning game-one, 30-19. The Eagles battled in games two and three, but lost both games 30-26 and 34-32. Game-three totaled 10 ties, but the Blue Devils prevailed winning the game and taking the match, 3-0.
Freshman Audrey Eichler recorded a team-high 15 kills on 28 total attacks with only two errors, registering a .464 attacking percentage. Freshman Dani Moskitis dished out 35 assists for the Eagles.
Freshman Cathy Quilico totaled a match-high 15 digs, while senior Abigail Hasebroock chipped in with eight kills and a team-high five blocks.
BC is back on the court, Sunday, Oct. 26 when Wake Forest travels to Power Gymnasium. Game time is scheduled for 1 pm.
