Volleyball Falls to Clemson in Straight Sets, 3-0

Chestnut Hill, Mass-Outside hitter Katty Workman tallied her eighth double-double of the season notching 11 kills and 15 digs in the Eagles’ loss to the Clemson Tigers on Friday night in Power Gym.

The Eagles (8-13, 0-9 ACC) dropped to the Tigers (11-9, 5-4 ACC) in straight sets, 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-20).

Senior Melissa McTighe charted five kills, two digs, and four blocks in the match while sophomore Sarah Mendes came through with six digs and a kill. Captain Kellie Barnum contributed a strong game with a team-high 31 assists along with five kills on .337 hitting, six digs and two blocks.

Amanda Yerke registered nine kills and eight digs while newcomer Anna Skold posted four kills for the Eagles.

Defensively, freshman Madisen Lydon notched ten digs and sophomore Franny Hock contributed six digs in the match.

The Eagles return to action in Power Gym on Sunday, Oct. 27 as they host Georgia Tech at noon.
