Volleyball Drops to Maryland in Straight Sets, 3-0

Sophomore Katty Workman registered a team-high 11 kills to go with six digs while teammate Amanda Yerke notched nine kills and a match-high 12 digs in the Eagles' 3-0 loss to Maryland on Sunday afternoon.

The Terrapins (11-9, 3-5 ACC) defeated the Eagles (8-12, 0-8 ACC) in straight sets, 25-21, 25-21, and 25-20.

Senior Melissa McTighe was another key contributor for the Eagles totaling nine kills on .421 hitting along with two digs and a block. Team captain Kellie Barnum led all players with 32 assists to go with four kills and six digs.

Freshman Barbara Gonzalez charted two kills and a block while sophomore Sarah Mendes came through with two kills, an assist, a service ace, and a dig for the Eagles.

 Defensively, freshman Madisen Lydon notched nine digs while sophomore Franny Hock came through with seven.

The Eagles return to Power Gym next weekend as they play host to Clemson on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. and Georgia Tech on Sunday, Oct. 27 at noon.
