Volleyball Falls to Virginia in Five Sets, 3-2

Outside hitter Katty Workman led all players with 26 kills and 21 assists, notching her seventh double-double of the season in the Eagles loss to Virginia on Saturday night in Charlottesville, Va.

The Eagles (8-10, 0-6 ACC) took the second and fourth sets, 25-17 and 26-24 while the Cavaliers (10-8, 3-3 ACC) won sets one, three, and five, 25-15, 25-20, and 15-10.

Team captain Kellie Barnum registered a team-high 39 assists to go with eight kills, 11 digs, and one block solo.  Outside hitter Courtney Castle tallied eight kills and 10 digs while Amanda Yerke charted seven kills, two digs, and three blocks of her own in the match.

Freshman Anna Skold contributed with a career-high five kills while senior Melissa McTighe and freshman Barbara Gonzalez both notched a kill each for the Eagles.

 Defensively, Madisen Lydon led the match with 23 digs. Junior Lauren Fields also contributed defensively charting six digs in the match.

BC is back on the road next weekend as they take on Pittsburgh on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. and Maryland on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m.
