WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -The Boston College volleyball team dropped a match to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (30-24, 30-17 and 30-25) Friday night in Atlantic Coast Conference action.
The loss for the Eagles evens their ACC record at 1-1, 7-5 overall. The win for Wake Forest improves their record to 1-1 in ACC play, 4-7 overall.
BC struggled to defend the Demon Deacons' attack all night. Wake Forest tallied attacking percentages of .243, .207 and .348 in each game against the Eagles.
On the other side of the court, BC had difficulty connecting on attacks of their own. The Eagles managed hitting percentages of .118, -.132 and .098 in games one through three.
Offensively, BC was led by senior Kelsey Johnson who totaled a team-high 13 kills. Freshman Dani Moskitis just missed a double-double, tallying 12 assists and eight digs.
Freshman Cathy Quilico led the Eagles defensively, registering a team-high 12 digs.
The Eagles are back in action tomorrow night, Saturday, Sept. 22, when they take on the Duke Blue Devils. Game time is schedule for 6 p.m. in Durham, N.C.
