Jan. 28, 2014

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior Kevin Hayes (men's hockey) and junior Liv Westphal (women's track & field) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.

Hayes scored three goals in a pair of road victories for the hockey team last week. He notched a goal at Merrimack in a 4-1 win and then posted two more in a 3-2 triumph at Penn State. It was his 12th-straight game with a point and he has a total of 26 points (14 goals, 12 assists) in that span.

Westphal took third out of 89 runners and was the first collegiate finisher in the 3000m at the Terrier Invitational at Boston University. She set the U23 French National record with her time of 9:16.35, which is currently the fourth-best time in the NCAA this year and the third-best performance in BC history.

No. 2 men's hockey (18-4-3, 11-1-1 HEA) is at No. 7 Providence on Friday night before facing Boston University on February 3 in the first round of the Beanpot at TD Garden. The track teams will compete at the Harvard Invitational on Saturday.
