Greensboro, N.C. – Senior Jillian King was named ACC Performer of the Week for her performance at the BU Multi Team Meet last week in an announcement made by the ACC on Tuesday.
King, the Scotia, N.Y. native, recorded the nation’s fastest time in the 800 meters this season (2:06.65) which is the fourth best 800-meter mark in BC history (Caitlin Bailey, 2:04.66, 2009).
The Eagles also scored a win in the 4x400 relay which included team members King, Carly Daniel, Erin McKenna, and Molly O’Dea.
King receives ACC Performer of the Week honors in indoor track for the first time in her tenure at the Heights and it was the second such accolade in her career (ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 11, 2010). King also earned USTFCCA National Athlete of the Week honorable mention alongside Octavious Freeman of UCF and Kimberlyn Duncan of LSU. Tia Brooks of Oklahoma received the National Athlete of the Week honors for putting up the third-best shot put mark in the world in 2013.
BC will be back in action on Friday as they are set to compete in the Joe Donahue Games hosted by Northeastern University.
