King Wins 800, Sets BC Record at ECAC Championship

PRINCETON, N.J. - Caroline King beat the hometown favorite Greta Feldman to the line by 44-hundredths of a second to capture Boston College's fourth consecutive 800-meter title at the ECAC Championship at Weaver Stadium on Sunday. The senior from Scotia, N.Y. topped the Tiger in 2:03.21, the nation's third fastest time of the season, and broke Caitlin Bailey's school record of 2:03.45 set at the 2010 NCAA East Regional.

Jillian King and Liv Westphal both scored in the 1,500-meter final. King, who entered the fastest qualifying time on Saturday, posted her second best time of the year (4:21.18) to take fourth place and net five points for BC. Westphal lowered her personal best to 4:26.64 to take eighth place and tally one point.

Heather Garcia and Allison Stasiuk rounded out the Eagles day in the 3,000-meter run. Garcia took 10th in 10:01.15 and Stasiuk finished in 11th with a time of 10:05.79.

The Eagles finished the meet with 31 points. Final team standings were not available at the time of this release.
