Women's Track Competes at Penn and Stonehill

PHILADELPHIA – The Boston College women’s track team scored a win in the DMR with the third best performance in team history this weekend at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia. The Eagles also competed at the Skyhawk Invitational hosted by Stonehill College.
The quartet of Kathy O’Keefe, Carly Daniel, Erin McKenna, and Jillian King tallied a win in the college section of the DMR with the third fastest mark in team history (11:24.37). The Eagles set the team record in the event at last season’s Penn Relays when Jillian King, Claire Bingham, Caroline King, and McKenna finished with a mark of 11:12.41.
Bridget Dahlberg continued her strong performance this season as her second place finish (9:20.86) in the 3000m was a personal best and the third fastest performance in team history behind Angie Graham and Shannon Smith. Dahlberg has recorded personal records in the 3000m, 5000m, and steeplechase in 2013.
At Stonehill, Allison Stasiuk highlighted the event for the Eagles with a second place finish in the 3000m (9:51.25) – good for an ECAC qualifying mark. Alana Poretta also qualified for the ECAC’s in the event with her time of 9:57.35 – a personal record.
The Eagles finished sixth overall in team scoring with 52 points at the event.
The women will return to action on May 10 for the ECAC Championships at Princeton University.
