Huckins Scores Win at UConn Invite

STORRS, Conn. – Kelsey Huckins led the way for the BC women’s track team with a resounding win in the discus and a second place finish in the hammer throw at the UConn Invite on Saturday.

The senior set an ECAC qualifying mark of 47.34m in the discus while recording a season best mark of 50.75m in the hammer throw.

Madeleine Davidson (4:36.89), Katherine O’Keefe (4:39.02), and Allison Stasiuk (4:40.34) all finished fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively in the 1500m.  Davidson’s mark was a career best while Stasiuk won her section by five seconds over teammate Moira Kenny (4:45.37).

Marissa Horton tallied a personal best in the 800m (2:22.39) while Elissa Knight won her section of the 800m with a season best 2:23.82.

Molly O’Dea and Wilhelmina Moen boasted the top-two season marks for the Eagles in the 200m with times of 25.69 and 26.78 respectively.

Sophomores Kim and Kristen McDonagh each set personal best marks in the long jump on Saturday.  Kim recorded a mark of 5.22m while Kristen came in at 5.09m for the Eagles.

The Eagles participated in their first 4x100 relay since 2011 – scoring a third place finish (49.47) thanks to the quartet of O’Dea, Carly Daniel, Kim McDonagh, and Jacqueline Hannon.

Boston College will return to action this Saturday at the UMass Invitational in Amherst.
