Women's Track & Field Completes Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Boston College women's track and field team competed in the Raleigh Relays this weekend and the event was highlighted by the 4x1500m relay team that took first place.
The winning relay team consisted of senior Morgan Mueller, junior Kathy O'Keefe, sophomore Danielle Winslow and junior Madeleine Davidson. They finished in 18:33.58 which was nearly four seconds ahead of Connecticut. Davidson served as the anchor and finished in 4:26.
Davidson also won her section in the 1500m while Mueller posted a personal best in the event (4:37.77). Sophomore Racquel MacDonald won her heat in the 400m hurdles by running a personal best 1:05.14.
Sophomore Kristen McDonagh finished third in the high jump by clearing 1.65m.
Freshman Fallyn Boich established a new Boston College record in the javelin at 40.09m. It was her third-ever collegiate attempt. She topped Kasey Hill's 2008 record of 39.32m. Boich finished eighth in the event.
Sophomore Megan Ritchie finished fourth in her flight in the 5000m by setting a new personal record of 17:48.45 while the 1600m sprint medley relay team of senior Molly O'Dea, sophomore Carly Daniel and freshmen Robin Gross and Claudia DiSomma placed fifth (4:01.43).
There were three ECAC qualifiers in the event for the Eagles, including the 4x400m relay team (3:49.33), Davidson in the 1500m (4:29.00) and senior Elizabeth O'Brien in the 5000m (17:14.90). Those three performances also qualify for the New England Championships.
Other New England qualifiers include: MacDonald in the 400m and 100m hurdles (15.49), freshman Christina Zelenoy in the 400m hurdles (1:05.50), Boich in the javelin, Ritchie and redshirt freshman Margaret Mullins (17:54.43) in the 5000m, freshman Danna Levin in the 3000m steeplechase (11:09.62), O'Keefe (4:35.17) and Mueller (4:37.77) in the 1500m, and McDonagh in the high jump.
The Eagles are back in action next Saturday at the UConn Invitational.
