Women's Track and Field Competes at ECAC Championship

BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College women’s track and field team competed at the ECAC Track and Field Championships at Boston University over the weekend. The team finished 33rd with eight points. The Eagles had two scoring performances in the 3000m, and their distance medley relay team also finished in the top eight in the distance medley relay.

Liv Westphal took fifth in the 3000m with her time of 9:26.07 and scored four points for BC. Laura Hottenrott took the next spot for the Eagles, finishing eighth with a time of 9:29.97 to score one point. Madeleine Davidson finished just behind, taking ninth overall in 9:30.09. Elizabeth O’Brien (9:47), Morgan Mueller (9:48), Danielle Winslow (9:52) and Alanna Poretta (10:13) were the final four runners for BC in the race. Muller and Winslow both set personal records in the race.

The distance medley relay team of Claudia DiSomma, Camila Isern, Ashlynn Fields and Katherine O’Keefe finished sixth overall with a time of 11:50.91, good for three points.

The 4x800m relay team ran the second-best time in BC history, finishing in 8:55.70 in the prelims. The team was composed of Kristen Jordan (2:18.2), DiSomma (2:10.80), O'Keefe (2:11.62), and Fields (2:15.3).

Carly Daniel and Robin Gross both ran lifetime bests in the 400m. Daniel crossed the line in 56.21, which is good for the fifth-best time in BC history, while Gross finished in 56.56.

The Eagles return to action March 28 for the NC State Relays, which is the first meet of the outdoor track and field season.
