Women's Track Competes at the Armory Collegiate Invitational

NEW YORK – The women’s track team traveled down to New York City to participate in the 12th Annual Armory Collegiate Invitational in a two-day event on Friday and Saturday. Over 100 college and universities from around the nation and globe took part in the event.
Junior Bridget Dahlberg tallied a PR in the mile with a mark of 4:47.14, the second best mark on the team this season behind Jillian King’s 4:37.60 mark set last weekend at the Terrier Classic. Dahlberg finished seventh in the event out of 18 participants and was the top finisher overall for the Eagles in any event on the weekend.
Junior Molly O’Dea competed in her fifth meet of the season and recorded a PR in the 400m with a mark of 59:07. O’Dea also competed in the 200m (25:28) and the 4 x 400 relay alongside teammates Carly Daniel, Amanda Michaud, and Molly McCarthy in which the Eagles finished 23rd with a time of 3:55.73.
Erin McKenna, the senior from Wyckoff, N.J., recorded the Eagles’ second best mark of the season in the 1000m with a time of 2:57.44. McKenna also competed in the 800m and finished 38th with a time of 2:18.95.
Moira Kenny and Elizabeth O’Brien were the first Eagles to compete in the 5000m this season, registering marks of 17:09.57 and 17:41.60 respectively. Kenny’s mark was a personal best, smashing her previous time of 17:29.75 set in last season’s ACC Indoor Championships.
In field events, Kelsey Huckins tallied her third best mark in the weight throw this season with a distance of 15.77m. Kristen (4.69m) and Kimberly McDonagh (4.58m) each competed in the long jump for the Eagles.
LSU’s Kimberlyn Duncan set the top 60m mark in the nation this season with a time of 7.16.
BC will be back in action next Friday at the Boston University Valentine Invitational.
