Women's Tennis has Several Players Selected for Northeast Regional Championships

Boston College women's tennis has had several players selected to play in the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional Championships in West Point, N.Y. beginning on Oct. 19.
The Eagles chosen for the main draw of singles play include Jessica Wacnik, Alex Kelleher, Heini Salonen, Kelly Barry, and Olga Khmylev. Freshman Julia Casselbury will play in the qualifying singles draw.
BC also qualified two doubles pairs to play in the event in Khmylev and partner Wacnik as well as Kelleher and teammate Katya Vasilyev. The tandem of Barry and Salonen sit at first on the doubles alternate list.
Wacnik, Kelleher, and Khmylev most recently competed at the ITA Women's All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. while Barry, Casselbury, Salonen, and Vasilyev most recently took to the court at the USTA Invitational in New York, N.Y.
Qualifying singles play begins on the morning of Oct. 19 with main draw doubles action getting underway that afternoon. Main draw singles competition will start on Oct. 20.
