Alex Kelleher and Olga Khmylev have been ranked 39th in the ITA Women's Doubles Preseason Rankings, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Friday.
The doubles tandem also made the prequalifying doubles list for the 2012 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships held in Pacific Palisades, Calif and hosted by UCLA. The duo sits as the number one alternate team to the qualifying doubles list.
Also for Boston College, Jessica Wacnik is a part of the prequalifying singles field at the championships. Wacnik and her partner, freshman Heini Salonen, are on the alternate list for prequalifying doubles.
The national event is set to begin on Saturday, Sept. 29 with pre-qualifying singles and doubles matches. Main draw action is slated for Thursday, Oct. 4-Sunday, Oct. 7 at the Riviera Tennis Club.
Last spring the Eagles finished with a mark of 10-13 overall and a 3-8 record in the ACC. Kelleher and Khmylev, who reached the quarterfinals of the USTA/ITA Indoor Championships in November 2011, completed the spring season at 14-14 as a doubles pair while Wacnik ended the spring with a record of 20-14 as a singles player.
