Women's Tennis' Borr Wins ITA Northeast Summer Circuit Tournament

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College rising sophomore Lexi Borr won the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Circuit Tournament at Wellesley and Regis Colleges on July 14. Along with rising junior Wan-Yi Sweeting, the BC pair advanced to the finals in doubles action.
Borr, who was the overall top seed, defeated No. 2 seed Sivan Krems of Princeton, 6-2, 6-2, in the finals of the women's open. She took down No. 5 seed Carolina Joyce, also from Princeton, 6-3, 6-1, in the semis.
Sweeting advanced to the quarterfinals but fell, 6-2, 6-0, to Krems.
In doubles play, Borr and Sweeting lost, 8-1, to Princeton's Cannon and Joyce in the finals.
The ITA Summer Circuit provides college players the opportunity to compete in organized events virtually year round. It is made up of nine regional circuits and consists of four consecutive open tournaments played during the month of July, leading up to the ITA/USTA National Summer Championships in Bloomington, Indiana in August.
