Greensboro, N.C. - Boston College women's tennis player Erina Kikuchi was one of 18 players to earn All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team honors, announced by the league on Thursday morning. It marked the first honor for the senior and the first for a BC women's tennis player since 2008.
The New York, N.Y., native is currently ranked 104th in the nation as a singles player and 89th in doubles with freshman partner Jessica Wacnik. She finished the regular season with an 11-7 dual singles record, 25-14 overall (including tournaments), going 4-4 in the No. 1 position. She earned ACC Player of the Week honors, the first for a BC player, on April 10 for defeating her first ranked opponents of the season and helping the Eagles to a 2-0 weekend, including a 5-2 victory over NC State.
Kikuchi holds a 90-72 overall record at Boston College in singles and doubles play.
The 18-member All-ACC team was determined by a vote of the league's 12 head coaches.
Duke's Beatrice Capra was selected as the ACC's Women's Tennis Player of the Year and the Freshman of the Year and North Carolina's Brian Kalbas received Coach of the Year honors for the third straight season.
