Women's Tennis Concludes Fall Season with Harvard Invitational

Boston College went 5-5 in singles play and 5-3 in doubles action as the women's tennis team concluded its fall season with the Harvard Invitational in Cambridge, Mass., from Friday to Sunday.

The three-day event held at the Murr Center consisted of five singles draws and two doubles draws with the Eagles competing against players from Boston University, Harvard, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Freshman Katya Vasilyev won two matches in singles play while senior Alex Kelleher, sophomore Sarah Dalton, and freshman Heini Salonen each won a match in singles.

Two of BC's doubles pairs - Kelleher/Vasilyev, and Salonen/Ina Kauppila - each earned two victories in doubles compeitition. Kelleher and Vasilyev reached the finals of the Harvard Flight before falling 8-1 to Amanda Lin and Sylvia Li of Harvard.

Boston College opens its spring schedule with a dual match at Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H., on January 19 at 2:00 p.m.
