The doubles pair of Alex Kelleher and Olga Khmylev lost two matches in doubles qualifying play at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. hosted by UCLA on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The two seniors fell 8-1 to No. 3-seeded Patricia Skowronski and Sofia Hager of Oregon in the first round of qualifying doubles. The match took place on the lower courts at the Riviera Tennis Club at 9:00 a.m. PT on Tuesday.
In consolation play Kelleher and Khmylev dropped their match against Elizabeth Epstein and Annie Sullivan of Yale in a 3:00 p.m. PT match on Wednesday.
Over the weekend of Sept. 21-23 the duo won two matches at the Brown Invitational.
Earlier in the championships, sophomore Jessica Wacnik earned a victory in pre-qualifying singles play.
The next two events for head coach Nigel Bentley and the Eagles are the USTA Invitational in New York, N.Y. at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center from Oct. 6-8 and the Northeast Regional Championships in West Point, N.Y. from Oct. 19-23.
