Women's Tennis Loses to No. 33 Georgia Tech, 4-3

Boston College won three singles matches but lost to No. 33 Georgia Tech, 4-3, at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets (8-6, 2-2 ACC) swept the doubles point before the Eagles (7-4, 1-3 ACC) split the six singles matches with the hosts.

Senior Kelly Barry and freshmen Heini Salonen and Katya Vasilyev picked up BC's wins in singles play.

Barry defeated Natasha Prokhnevska, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3, on court No. 3, Salonen beat Megan Kurey, 7-5, 6-1, on court No. 5, and Vasilyev downed Jasmine Minor, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 6.

Sophomore Jessica Wacnik fell in three sets to No. 89 Elizabeth Kilborn at No. 1 while Wacnik and partner Alex Kelleher fell to No. 67 Kendal Woodard and Kurey, 9-7 on doubles court No. 1.

Next, Boston College plays at Clemson on Sunday at noon.
