No. 51 Women's Tennis Defeats Cal State Fullerton, 6-1

No. 51 Boston College remained undefeated on the season with a 6-1 win over Cal State Fullerton on the Titan Tennis Courts in Fullerton, Calif., on Monday afternoon.

The Eagles (6-0, 1-0 ACC) took five of six singles matches and won two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point over the Titans (6-6, 2-1 Big West).

Sophomore Jessica Wacnik won on court No. 1 in singles, 6-4, 6-4 over Tiffany Mai and teamed with senior Alex Kelleher to beat Mai and Monica Rodriguez, 8-5, on court No. 1 in doubles. Kelleher won on court No. 2 in singles, 6-4, 6-2, over Morgan McIntosh.

Senior Kelly Barry and freshmen Heini Salonen and Wan-Yi Sweeting won singles matches on court Nos. 3, 5, and 6 respectively.

Salonen and classmate Katya Vasilyev defeated Megan Sandford and Emilia Borkowski, 8-6, on court No. 3 in doubles.

Next, Boston College plays at Long Beach State on Friday at 1 p.m. ET.
