Women's Tennis Falls to No. 20 Miami, 6-1

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Boston College women’s tennis team dropped to the 20th-ranked Miami Hurricanes, 6-1, on Friday afternoon in Coral Gables, Fla.

Freshman Emily Safron held on to win her singles match at the No. 6 spot. The New York, N.Y., product defeated Miami’s Brittany Dubins 6-3, 6-1.

The Hurricanes stole victories from the No. 2 doubles and the No. 3 doubles teams, signaling the doubles point in the favor of Miami (9-2, 3-0 ACC).

Next up, the Eagles (7-3, 0-2 ACC) travel to Tallahassee, Fla., for a Sunday tilt against Florida State. The match is set to begin at noon.
