Katie Molumphy McNamara returns for her 11th season as assistant coach of the Boston College women's tennis team.

A member of BC's class of 1987, McNamara was the first player to attend Boston College on a full tennis scholarship. During her tenure as a student-athlete, she won three BIG EAST singles championships and was the first BC individual to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

During that span, McNamara racked up more than 100 singles wins, including an astounding 50-2 record in BIG EAST competition. In recognition of her efforts and her accomplishments, the conference named her the BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Decade for tennis, and in 1992, she was inducted into the BC Varsity Club Hall of Fame.

McNamara made the transition to Boston College after stints as an assistant coach at Harvard University from 1990-93 and as the head coach at MIT during the 1995-96 season.

McNamara continued her education at Boston College, earning a master's in business administration in 1994.

Katie is married to John McNamara, a former BC hockey star. The couple has fourboys who all play hockey. Kevin and Jack play for Colgate University, while Michael and Joseph will be playing for Holy Cross.
