The Boston College men's and women's swimming teams swept the field this weekend, as both squads picked up a first place overall finish in the New England Catholic Invite on Oct. 21-22.
The women finished first out of seven teams, defeating Le Moyne (202-127), Iona (195-132), Holy Cross (214-127), Regis (218-82), Siena (173-163) and Assumption (205-128). The men took first out of five teams, beating Holy Cross (216-115), Iona (200-135), Regis (224-75) and Le Moyne (214-117).
Stephanie Ng and Erin Rademaker were named the team's Outstanding Performers for the women. Ng won the 400-Yard IM (4:40.28) and the 200-Yard Butterfly (2:11.48). Rademaker took first in the 1-meter (213.15) and 3-meter (232.15) dives.
Andrea King and Annie Fothergill turned in the Outstanding Performances of the meet for the women in the 500-Yard Freestyle and the 100-Yard Butterfly, respectively.
On the men's side, Nick Henze, Marty Long, Connor Stickney and Sean Murphy were named the meet's Outstanding Performers. Henze took third in the 100-Yard Freestyle (48.87), as well as the first in the 200-Yard Freestyle (1:45.71). Long swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives with scores of 247.75 and 293.95, respectively. Stickney won the 100-Yard Freestyle (48.16), while Murphy won the 400-Yard IM (4:15.97) and placed second in the 100-Yard Breaststroke. Henze, Stickney and Murphy also helped contribute to first place finishes for BC in multiple relay events.
The Eagles return to action on Friday, Nov. 4 when they host Maine and Florida Gulf Coast University.
