W. Swimming Falls to Marist

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The men's swimming and diving team defeated Marist in a dual meet by a score of 165-135, while the women's team fell to Marist 172-126.

Sophomores Nick Henze and Andrew Stranick were recognized as the Outstanding Performers of the meet for the Eagles. Henze won the 200 yard freestyle (1:44.64) the 100 yard freestyle (47.47) and the 400 yard freestyle relay (3:11.81) and finished third in the 500 yard freestyle (4:58.88). Stranick won the 200 yard breaststroke (2:08.76) the 200 yard IM (1:57.72) and the 200 yard medley relay (1:37.18) and finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke (59.64).

Senior Marty Long and junior Sean Murphy had the Outstanding Performances of the meet, as Long won the one meter dive (300.00) and Murphy won the 100 yard breaststroke (59.44).

On the women's team freshman Samantha Couillard was named the Outstanding Performer of the meet for BC. Couillard finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:10.26) and the 200 yard breaststroke (2:30.02) and her relay team took third in the 200 yard medley relay (154.95).

Senior Kathleen Murray had the Outstanding Performance of the meet in the 200 yard butterfly in which she finished second with a time of 2:12.81.

The Eagles are back in action January 22 at Tufts.
