W. Swimming Defeats Brandeis

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The men's swimming and diving team swept the field this past Friday in a home meet, defeating Brandeis University (160-110) and Bridgewater State (186-103). The women's team was also victorious, beating Brandeis by a score of 159-98.

Senior diver Marty Long and sophomore swimmer Carter Smith were named the Outstanding Performers of the meet for the men's team. Long won both the one meter dive (329.45) and the three meter dive (351.90). Smith took first in the 200 yard butterfly (2:03.22) and the 100 yard butterfly (55.49).

Sophomore Caleb Power had the Outstanding Performance of the meet in the 200 yard breaststroke, which he won with a time of 2:20.23.

On the women's side, junior diver Kathryn Oskar and freshman swimmer Caitlin Marks were named the Outstanding Performers of the meet. Oskar posted the highest marks in both the one meter dive (272.60) and the three meter dive (274.50). Marks' 200 yard medley relay team took second (1:57.34) and she won the 100 yard breaststroke (1:11.14).

Sophomore GIllian Walsh posted the fastest time in the 200 yard IM (2:21.42), which was recognized as the Outstanding Performance of the meet.

The Eagles return to action January 12 for a dual meet with George Mason and Towson in Fairfax, VA.
