BEFORE BC:
Attended Connelly School of the Holy Child in Potomac, MD where she was a varsity swimmer and Scholar Athlete for all four years of high school... Team captain senior year, and received the Rookie of the Year award freshman year, MVP freshman through junior years, and the Coaches Award senior year... Currently holds the school record in the 200 freestyle, which she broke my junior year... Swims for the Rockville-Montgomery Swim Club (RMSC), and has been since she was 8... Best events are the 200 and 500 free, but often swims 200 IM, 100 free, or 100 breast as well.
PERSONAL:
Parents Greg and Lisa Popera... the oldest of 4 children... sister, Alexa (16), goes to Holy Child and is also a swimmer, and brothers, John (12) and Teddy (4), swim summer league but also like playing football and lacrosse.
