W. Swimming Opens 2011-12 Season at West Point

Veteran leaders and talented freshmen look to succeed this season

AS A SENIOR(2011-12)
Was named Team Captain for the 2011-2012 season.

AS A JUNIOR (2010-11)
Winner of the Harold M. Groden, MD award for Outstanding Performance in the 400 Freestyle Relay at the Army Invitational...Was a member of the record breaking 200 meter Medley Relay (2:03.7 at Fairfield)...Chosen as Outstanding Performer at the Army Invitational, the University of Chicago, and Northeastern...Chosen as Outstanding Performance as a member of the 400 Free Relay at the Army Invitational and as a member of the 200 Medley Relay at Fairfield...achieved fastest dual meet time of the season a member of the 200 Medley Relay (1:51.04 vs. Bryant), the 400 Medley relay (4:05.22 at Colgate), the 400 Free Relay (3:37.34 at West Point), and the 800 Free Relay (7:55.57 at Dartmouth Invite)... achieved fastest dual meet time as an individual in the 50 Freestyle (24.74 at West Point), the 100 Freestyle (53.87 vs. Northeastern), and 50 Free-Split (24.12 at Chicago w/ Wheaton)...her 180.5 points in the dual meet season placed her second in dual meet points while her 289.25 points from the season, both dual meet and championships, was the highest on the team...she placed 44th in Career Scoring with 773 points...she picked up 10 individual wins and 21 relay wins, making her first in total of first place finishes... Named to 2010-11 All-ACC Academic Honor Roll...earned 2010-11 Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement...

AS A SOPHOMORE (2009-10)
Was named Boston College's Most Valuable Performer of the Season...Chosen as the Outstanding Performance in the 400 Free Relay at the Army meet...Chosen as the Outstanding Performer at Northeastern meet...achieved fastest dual meet time of the season as a member of the 200 Medley Relay (1:51.64 at Northeastern), the 400 Medley relay (4:07.77 at Bryant), the 200 Free Relay (1:40.13 at Maine and Dartmouth), the 400 Free Relay (3:35.44 at Northeastern), and the 800 Free Relay (7:55.42 at Maine and Dartmouth)...achieved fastest dual meet time as an individual in the 50 Freestyle (24.83 at Northeastern), the 100 Freestyle (53.99 at Boston U), 50 Free-Split (23.98 at Northeastern), and the 100 Free-Split (52.86 at Army w/ Vermont and SBU)...her 200.75 points in the dual meet season and 266.25 points from the season, both dual meet and championships, was the highest on the team...she also placed 75th in Career Scoring with 483.75 points...she picked up 10 individual wins and 15 relay wins, making her first in total of first place finishes... Named to 2009-10 All-ACC Academic Honor Roll...earned 2009-10 Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement.

AS A FRESHMAN (2008-09)
Dropped time and scored points in both distance and sprint freestyle events...Was a member of the record breaking 800 Free Relay at ACC's in Baltimore, MD (7:34. 94)...Outstanding performance in the 1000 free in the dual meet against U of Connecticut...Outstanding performer in the quad meet versus U of Maine, U of Rhode Island, and Dartmouth College...achieved fastest dual meet time of the season as a member of 200 Free Relay (1:38.67 at the Dartmouth Invite)...her 175 points in the dual meet season and her 231.5 points from the season, both dual meet and championships, was 2nd best on the team, trailing only MVP Caroline Byron...she picked up 5 individual wins and 8 relay wins, tying her for fourth in dual meet first place finishes... Named to 2008-09 All-ACC Academic Honor Roll...Lauren's versatility in all the freestyle events, ranging from sprint to distance, allowed her to contribute to the team in many ways.

PERSONAL
Lauren is the daughter of Mark and Lorie Nightingale...she has a younger sister, Emily...Lauren swam for the Marlins Swim Club in Ocala, FL...she now swims with Metro Aquatics in Allen, TX...she is enrolled as a History Major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
